Warmest day of the year so far! Had to get outside. There was a chorus of rototillers, tractors, mowers, and all kinds of outside equipment going! It was hilarious!
I did some burning, raking, clearing and rototilling myself!
Even got daffodils out. Tulips are just barely poking up!
Another trip to my brother’s machine shop
Stopped by my brother's machine shop to take some pictures. Been to see him several times, but not the full out tour, since January 2011.
They have added three more employees and two CNC Lathes with live tooling, one CNC Mill, a CNC saw, and a second waterjet. They have another CNC Hurco Mill coming the end of the month.
One of the CNC Lathes:
The two waterjets….now side-by-side:
Some of the parts cut by the waterjet. They are now ready for the break (to bend them into shape).
The Wire EDM machine (LoL…'SODICK')
The wire EDM was cutting these gears:
Hard to see, but this is the wire used in the cutting process:
Got my brother’s hand in front of the picture I took of the other CNC Lathe (LOL!!!)
These are plastic cable seals that came off the Mill 3000 (CNC Lathe with live tooling…YES, a third mill):
Here is one of the manual lathes:
And the other manual lathe (this second lathe came from a school in Detroit):
This is the CNC saw:
These are pulleys that the saw cut and are ready for the lathe:
This part is a transistor diode of some sort. It was run on the Hurco Lathe with live tooling:
Rack full of soft jaws used on the CNC Lathes for holding pars:
These are gears (some of them are the old worn out ones, brought in for measuring to build the new parts) and some of them are the new machined gears:
Sweatshirt I got from the shop for Christmas - I'm a walking advertisement! LoL!!!
