August Hike Up Logan Canyon

Curious to see if the water has gone down since my first hike in July and to maybe see if the nettings and boxes are still there.

The water has gone down, leaving the path of destruction semi-dry.

You can see that the normal creek (aka river) bed really does sit lower (on the right).

Looking more like a creek now too.

But the path will still never be the same.

Very quickly I notice that the water has gone down some and the netting is still there, but there is a sign this time.

Looks like the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources is studying the native trout running through this area.

I decided to get pictures of the signs this time. This is where I head up Steel Hollow.

Here's a spot where they've had to rebuild the path as it climbs up the mountainside. Looks like avalanches of snow/water wiped this right out. They stacked rock here and rebuilt the path.

The Indian Paintbrush is everywhere along the path!

That same butterfly as last time is in the same place! And he is teasing me....I chase him for a picture and he takes off and I follow!!

Coming up on the 'new' waterfall again. Not near as loud and the water has really gone down up here.

Looking directly up from this old pond bed....

Is this shale slide and tower of rocks.

More of the netting and framework can be seen with the watering having gone down.

A more gorgeous day, I couldn't have asked for.
